The award-winning Chaucer Barn makes the perfect year-round private retreat for smaller intimate groups or larger weddings. We are proud to be carbon negative throughout our 20 acres of landscaped gardens and grounds, with luxury accommodation for up to 18 guests. During the summer, it’s a good idea to make the most of our National garden scheme-approved gardens. In the winter, you can enjoy the cosy romance of our beautiful interiors, stunning views and open log fires. Accommodation for up to a further 20 guests is available in the eco-lodges.

Carbon negative, naturally positive
Many tons of carbon are sequestered from the atmosphere each year by the thousands of native trees we have planted over 35 years. Many more are to be planted each year.
Our carbon negative status comes from much investment in green technologies. A 199 kW district biomass system heats the barn & surrounding buildings.
Electricity is provided by a 90 kW array of solar panels screened by hedges. This solar array sends most of it’s electricity back to the National Grid.
